In fine weather, before 30,000 spectators, Villa dropped Joe Nicholson and had Dr Milne assisting, with Billy Walker still absent. Liverpool opened the scoring, Forshaw heading through with Spiers advancing and vainly attempting to fist out. Villa, however, attacked frequently, testing Scott. Dr Milne was always prominent. Johnstone went dead lame after Stephenseon had netted when offside. Subsequently, Liverpool were dominant, but Villa recovered finely. Capewell. Equalising.
