Blackburn Rovers’ new right-winger hardly represents the acquisition of a youthful player in this important role, nor is he having his first spell with a First Division club. He is a product of war-time football, and it was nine years ago that he first joined Sunderland, but after only one season he went to Liverpool. He stayed there until May, 1925, when Bristol City signed him up. Perhaps the Rovers have bought him because of the success of Bourton, another ex-City player.
