Liverpool’s need

Monday, August 5 – 1929
I would not be surprised to hear that Liverpool had captured a first class centre forward. In all other positions, the Merseysiders are well served. A star leader of the attack would round off the side and put Liverpool in the van as regards prospects. I hear the club are fully prepared to spend a few thousands for the right man.
Jimmy Hampson, of Blackpool, has been mentioned, but the Seasiders have said they are not parting with this player.
