W.G. Barnes from Cowes on trial at Anfield

Professional clubs are watching the form of some of the amateurs in the Isle of Wight. R.J. Mathieson, the Ryde Sports and Hants County left half and captain, played for Southampton Reserves against the Arsenal Reserves in the London Combination match on Saturday, and W.G. Barnes, the Cowes and Hants County goalkeeper, had a trial for Liverpool Reserves in the Central League match with Aston Villa Reserves.
