Nel Tarleton married at Ormskirk

April 18, 1935
Nel Tarleton, the British featherweight champion boxer, was married quietly to-day at the Register Office, Ormskirk, by special license to Miss Barbara Day, who is a daughter of Tarleton’s manager, Mr. H.S. Day, produce merchant, of North John Street, Liverpool.

Tarleton drove up to the register office in his own car, and he and his bride were accompanied by Miss Day, elder sister of the bride, who was bridesmaid, and Mr. Tarleton, the bridegroom’s brother, who was the best man, and Mr. Chris Harrington.

The bride wore a brown coat with fur-trimmed cape and had a spray of red carnations. Nel Tarleton had a blue-pin-stripe suit and was wearing a white carnation as a buttonhole. Miss Day, the bridesmaid, was in black corded velvet satin with white facings and she wore a spray of pink carnations.

They will leave for their honeymoon after Easter.
