Berry Nieuwenhuys in Blackpool court

Friday, July 2 – 1937
Berry Nieuwenhuys, the Liverpool footballer, of Utting-avenue, Liverpool, was summoned at Blackpool to-day for failing to conform to a “Halt” sign at the junction of Watson-road and the Promenade.

Nieuwenhuys pleaded guilty, and said he was going through the pleasure back but never saw the sign because he was watching people running across the road. He took the corner, he said, very slowly, and the magistrate dismissed the case on payment of costs.
