Chester yesterday paid a fee of £1,000 for the transfer of Alf Hobson, the Liverpool goalkeeper. He joined Liverpool from Shildon Colliery two and a half season ago, and made 26 first team appearances. Hobson stands 5ft. 10in., and weighs 12st. 3lb.
