Liverpool complete their Football League programme with an all-Lancashire “Derby” game against Manchester United at Old Trafford. The Reds will be strengthened by the return to duty of Willie Fagan, who resumes leadership of the attack in place of John Shafto. Fagan has been under suspension. Herman Van den Berg, the South African, comes back at outside left in place of Bill Kinghorn after two or three weeks’ rest.
When the United were at Anfield early in the season, the Reds won by the only goal, and I think they can complete a “double.” The United are not an effective force, and I think the quicker development of Liverpool should decide.
