Italians’ secret training

Italy’s football team, the final composition of which is not yet certain, for the match against England as the San Siro Stadium on Saturday next, is training in a small village retreat in the hills outside Florence.

The players are in the care of Signor Vittorio Pozzo, who is very reticent about the training programme he has prescribed for them. It is known, however, that gymnastics, running, and walking play a great part, and a match has been played weekly against teams of young local players. All the players are said to be in perfect physical condition and realise that they are faced with a hard task-
