Players’ Union meeting

Saturday, August 19 – 1939
The annual general meeting of the Association Football Players’ and Trainers’ Union will be held in Manchester on Monday. The recent refusal of the Football League and the Football Association to accede to the union’s requests for better conditions will be the chief subject for discussion. The requests include an increase of £1 per week, making a maximum of £9 per week, and the establishment of a minimum wage of £4 per week, with the alternative of a free transfer.
