The Football League Management Committee have arranged to hold their next meeting in London on March 4 – and it should prove the most important gathering since was started.
I have little doubt that by then the League will have received numerous schemes from the clubs for the improvement of the game. I would advise the clubs to get their special meeting called before March 4. It will avoid delays.
If the clubs could ask the League to call a special meeting within the next two weeks all ideas could be tabled – including the cup schemes suggested by Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur – and then the Management Committee would have something concrete on which to work when they met on March 4.
Unless the meeting of the clubs is called before March 4 it will mean a further delay of a month. And that would be far too late to get anything into operation.
