Liverpool signing

Thursday, February 15 – 1940
Mr. George Kay, manager of Liverpool continues to sign up the young players and has high hopes of a local boy he has just taken on an amateur form. This is Stan Pickstock, the outside right, who has been playing with the Postal Workers’ club.

Pickstock was included in Liverpool’s team against Wigan Athletic in the Lancashire League last Saturday, and he gave an excellent display of all-round ability besides helping himself to a couple of goals.

The lad is only 18, and Mr. Kay intends giving him further opportunities.
