An interesting race as to which will be the first to reach the century in the “goals for” column is taking place between Liverpool and Everton who, in League and War Cup competition games, have been the biggest scorers this season. At the moment Liverpool lead with 96 goals, of which 72 were scored in the first half of the season. Everton, however, are only a goal behind, having scored 60 goals in League games and 35 in the Cup competition.
At the other end of the scale, Tranmere Rovers is the only side in the Northern Section to have conceded 100 goals. Crewe Alexandra, who visit Anfield on Saturday, have had 94 goals scored against them.
