You will notice that the first “Liverton” Derby is at Anfield on September 12, which is a Wednesday – a new departure which will be welcomed by the mid-week half-holiday folk, if not by the clubs. In addition to the fixtures above, there will be other mid-week games in September when the Lancashire Cup fixtures are settled, and plenty in the second half of the season, when the second leg of all the FA Cup ties will be in mid-week. There will also be a number of rearranged League matches due to clubs still in the FA Cup being unable to play as per list. In short the mid-week enthusiasts are going to get more opportunities for first-class Soccer than ever before.
