I understand from one of my “scouts,” who follows Liverpool Reserves regularly, that the two most improved players in the Anfield reserve string this season are centre half Alex South and centre forward Louis Bimpson.
Bimpson, who has averaged a goal a match in Liverpool’s four consecutive victories, is shaping better, so I am told, than at any previous period of his service with the club.
South, who was handicapped by injury on some of his senior appearances last season, has been reproducing the form which led Manager Don Welsh to secure him from Brighton, and has been a splendid bulwark in the rearguard.
It is early yet to form definite conclusions, but it certainly sees as though the Anfield reserve outlook is taking on a brighter hue
