Football fans gathered in hundreds to-day for the funeral of Mr. Elisha Scott, the former Irish international goalkeeper.
Among those who accompanied the funeral from the house 304 Dongall Road – to the City Cemetery were footballers and ex-footballers and former colleagues.
Mr. Scott, who died on Saturday at the age of 66, was manager of Belfast Celtic.
Representatives of the Irish Football Association, the Celtic club, Irish League clubs and of the organisations which used Celtic Park for their matches, were present.
Among the many wreaths were those from the Irish F.A., Belfast Celtic, and the Liverpool F.C., for which Mr. Scott played for 21 years, before returning home to Belfast to manage Celtic.
