Ian McDonald, a £25,000 Liverpool signing from Workington last season, has gone on a month’s loan to Colchester (writes Alex Goodman).
The 21-years-old McDonald, a midfield player, who has yet to make a first team appearance, was travelling to London to-day with the necessary forms to meet Colchester manager Jimmy Smith.
If there are no last minute complications, McDonald will probably make his debut for Colchester at Wrexham on Saturday.
