A brewery firm has donated a magnificent silver trophy for the winners of the Celtic v Liverpool game at Celtic Park on August 14 for the Jock Stein testimonial. In accepting the trophy, which will be the permanent possession of the winners, Mr. Stein said: “I am grateful to the brewers for their interest in the game. We don’t play friendlies and this will be a prodigious match.
“Celtic were the first British team to win the European Cup and Liverpool are the current holders.”
