Liverpool are furious with the League for giving them a Boxing Day dose of capital punishment. Their fixture at Queens Park Rangers will involve a 480-mile round trip – and the midday kick-off makes travelling nightmare for fans.
The League insist it involves no more travelling than usual, but Peter Robinson, Anfield chief executive, called it one of their worst Christmas fixtures for years.
“There are no trains, so I’ll have to be up at 6 am, to travel by road,” said Robinson.
