Liverpool get home advantage in the test matches


April 9, 1896
The management committee of the Football League met at the Alexandra Hotel, Dale Street. The draw for the right of obtaining the first home matches among the competing clubs in the test matches resulted in good fortune falling the second divisions clubs, Liverpool and Manchester City.
