Frank Becton failed to turn out for training last week, and the Anfield committee had no other choice but to relegate him to the Reserve. Rules must be observed, Frank, and your friends feel sure that your place is in the League team is your by right if you only act ditto. A firm hand is naturally expected to rule well nowadays, and the example meted out to one of their best forwards may act as a deterrent to others who would do likewise. The certainty of the punishment more than the severity of the punishment keeps folk in order, and the Liverpool powers, if the occasion requires will go further if the rules are grossly misused.
