Edgar Chadwick transferred to Southampton

August 22, 1900
Edgar Chadwick leaves Blackburn for Southampton to commence immediate training with the Southampton club, with whom he will partner his old Everton and international mate, Alf Milward, on the left wing. It is stated that Burnley reduced the amount of Chadwick’s transfer fee to £50 for the Rovers only, but that the latter refused to sign him. Chadwick will take the Southampton team on tour in Germany at the close of the season.
