Padiham made a good fight against Liverpool Reserves. In connection with the game a story reaches me. The Liverpool outside right is alleged to have been offside five time in the first quarter of an hour. Soon afterwards, he again infringed, whereupon a spectator exclaimed, “I’ll be blowed if that mon weren’t born offside.”
