The Russian Consul’s funeral service at Liverpool

December 31, 1906
At the Greek Church in Liverpool yesterday a funeral service was held over the remains of Colonel Robert de Geiman, the Russian Consul, who committed suicide under tragic circumstances last week. The coffin bore the military uniform and the sword of the Consul, and was draped with the Russian flag, while his military orders were displayed on a cushion alongside.

The service was attended by many representatives of the Consular Corps in the city and the Lord Mayor (Mr. J. Japp), was present in state.

The chief mourners were Miss Denise de Geiman, daughter; Baron and Baronesse Benoit de Geiman, brother and sister-inlaw; and Mons. A.L. de Trobrian, French Consul.

The body is to be transported to Bordeaux, en route for Pau, where the interment is to take place.
