Team colours for the Cup final


Wednesday, April 7 – 1909
Owing to Manchester United and Bristol City, the Cup finalists, playing in the same colours, the Football Association has ordered them to adopt neutral colours on the occasion of the great event at the Palace on the 24th inst. The United will play in all white with red facings, and with the Red Rose of Lancashire on the breast of the jerseys; Bristol City, royal blue jerseys and white trousers. The mancunians’ new outfit will be provided by Mr. George Robey.
