Cestrians will wish success to Joe Hewitt (Punch), late of Liverpool, who has thrown in his lot with Bolton Wanderers. He has played for Liverpool for the last five seasons. He served his apprenticeship with Newton Rangers, Chester, and was transferred to Sunderland and then to Liverpool.
Not only has he been successful in the football world, but he is an adept with the woods. Last week he won the championship of the Sandon Green, and also won Schweppes’ valuable cup, which he holds for 12 months, the Sandon being the headquarters of the Liverpool Football Club.
