Letters to Bee.
“After Saturday’s display I think the directors of the Liverpool Football Club will give some of the players a much needed rest. Fancy 38 goals scored against a defence considered to be second to none! Drastic steps should be taken to remedy this defect. How is it William Banks, after playing two splendid games should be dropped? Place this team, and I’ll warrant there will be a big improvement: – Elisha Scott; Sam Speakman, Robert Pursell; Thomas Fairfoull, Harry Lowe, Donald Mackinlay; Jack Sheldon, William Banks, Fred Pagnam, Tom Miller, Robert Terris or William Lacey. Scott has been waiting long enough for his chance. Now is the time.” – Yours, &c., Red Supporter.
