An interesting newcomer in the Gloucestershire team to meet Kent at the Wagon Works Ground, Gloucester, on Wednesday, is Phil Taylor, who makes his first appearance in county cricket.

Taylor is the Liverpool footballer, formerly of Bristol Rovers. He was at the nets at the County Ground on Friday, and on Saturday he scored a century for St. George, a Bristol senior club.

Twelve players have been selected and Taylor definitely will play.
The team is: – B.O. Allen, Dr. C. Tyler, Goddard, Neale, Crapp, Wilson, Emmett, Hopkins, Haines, Monks, Scott, and Taylor.
