Important football meetings will be held in Blackpool this weekend. On Friday there will be a meeting of the League Post-War Planning Committee, followed on Saturday by a meeting of the Football League Management Committee.
At the Saturday’s meeting the Committee will decide the shape of things to come for season 1944-45, and they will discuss proposals put forward by the clubs, including Tottenham’s suggested 10s. a match increase in players’ wages, and Everton’s proposal for a week’s break between each round of the League War Cup.
The League hope there will be no curtailment of the tournaments, but will be guided by the Government in this respect.
