Liverpool F.C., who before the war signed several South African footballers on professional forms, to-day secured another in R.H.Priday, a 20 year old outside left. The signing was completed by the club chairman, assistant secretary, and Priday on board the Capetown Castle at Southampton docks. While in Mombasa Priday caught a cold and, as he has not fully recovered, he will not play for Liverpool on Saturday. (Derby Daily Telegraph, 28-11-1945)
