Bootle in the red

The annual balance-sheet of the Bootle Association Football Club has just been issued. From it it would appear that by far the largest item of expenditure was £1,073 in wages to players, trainers, secretary, and groundsman, the total expenditure being £2,198. The receipts from gates and stands amounted to £1,365, whilst subscriptions and donations amounted to £155, and there was a balance transfer to the balance-sheet of £592.
