Not the least interesting preliminary function of the Liverpool Football Club is their annual bowling contest with the Police Athletic Society, which took place on the Sandon Hotel green yesterday afternoon. As was only to be expected, the preservers of law and order carried all before them in the singles, leading by 29, but in the doubles the footballers had a majority of five. Subsequently the players were entertained to dinner, following which a capital musical programme was rendered.
